Who do you work with in couples therapy? I work with couples in all stages of relationships: dating, living together, engaged, married, separated, and divorcing. Therapy can address relationship transitions (moving in together, getting married, having children, relationship endings), sexual difficulties, intimacy, trust issues, child-rearing conflicts, financial problems, career changes, relocation, extended family conflicts, blending families and/or dysfunctional patterns of behavior. How can my partner and I benefit from couples therapy? Depending upon your goals for treatment, couples therapy may address the following topics: · Reducing conflict · Enhancing problem-solving and decision-making skills · Learning to communicate more effectively · Renewing experiences of love, friendship and intimacy · Working through hurt feelings and unresolved issues · Establishing a rich and pleasurable sexual relationship · Deepening understanding, respect and appreciation of one another · Building mutual trust · Learning how to effectively support one another
